What to expect
Inbox Imp is built and operated by one person. Every email is read by that person, usually within a couple of business days. We would rather say that plainly than publish a response time we cannot promise: outside the 3-business-day acknowledgement for security reports, there is no guaranteed reply time, and there is no 24/7 on-call. An incident at 3am is found in the morning.
Things you can do without writing to us
- Get a message back. Every decision is listed on the Activity page, newest first, with one click to restore. Filed mail is archived, never erased. The one exception is mail Inbox Imp is confident is spam, which goes to your Trash: recoverable there for 30 days.
- Change how mail is handled. Your policy is a plain-English document you own and can edit at any time on the Rules page.
- Stop it entirely. Revoke access at Google Account Permissions. Inbox Imp stops immediately; your mail stays where it is.
- Delete your data. Ask at privacy@inboximp.com and we delete mailbox data within 30 days, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Before you write in about a filing mistake
It helps enormously to include the sender and subject of the message, roughly when it arrived, and what you expected to happen instead. Classification is probabilistic and it does get things wrong; correcting it in your queue teaches the policy, and a report tells us whether a protection is missing rather than a single message being unlucky. How Inbox Imp works explains which rule wins when two could apply.
